Recruitment

Come join Kappa Alpha Order, James Madison University’s 2010 Fraternity of the Year.

The Order is searching for young gentlemen who hold themselves to the highest standards in all aspects of life, and want to join a group of brothers with the same common goals.

Kappa Alpha Order is made up of a large group of well-rounded JMU men who pride themselves in their athletic, academic, and social abilities, and the respect that they receive around the University proves that point. The ideas of chivalry, gentility, and a firm commitment to excellence are our most important beliefs.

What sets us apart:

-Scholarship- Our GPA is ranked top 5 amongst all Fraternities.
-We give out over $1,500 in scholarships to our members each year.
-KA awards over $100,000 in scholarships to our members each year
-All expense paid internship opportunities in Washington, DC

-Academics- This is one of the top priorities of our fraternity, and we prove it by finishing every semester with one of the highest fraternity GPA’s on campus. Over the years we consistently have raised the bar for academics within Greek life as well as all other organizations at James Madison.

-Athletics- We are always elite contenders in Greek Intramural sports, consistently competing for championships. We win championships year after year, and we compete in almost every intramural sport available. Our future intramural teams look dominant and ready to continue to win.

-Community Service- A huge part of what we are about, the brothers of KA always strive to give back to not only JMU, but the entire Harrisonburg/Rockingham County community as well. We hold yearly events such as Rosebowl (our annual volleyball tournament whose proceeds go to MDA), The Reverend J. Patrick Gray Memorial 5k “Race for a Cause” (money goes to cancer research), and multiple blood drives each semester. We also recently partnered with Waterman Elementary School, so the majority of our smaller community service events take place there. Making community service such an instrumental part of what we do makes us able to give back and gain a strong sense of reward as a result.

-Networking- 15 years worth of Alumni has given KA graduates an advantage over others in finding jobs in a struggling economy. Our alumni networking database is unlike any other, members from coast to coast making networking for employment opportunities easier than ever; we offer life time connections that exceed any organization at James Madison.

-Socially- Kappa Alpha has the most registered social events (that are absolutely insane) year after year. We organize tons of events every month including, but not limited to, events such as: Formal, astounding basement parties, date functions, mixers, and numerous other events at our main chapter house or one of our 7 satellite houses. Ask about us or come see for yourself.

Consistently having 70+ brothers on our roster, we continue to be one of the largest fraternities on campus. We are not the best because we are the biggest, we are the biggest because we are the best. The HYPE is real.
